me + my story

I’m Lidiana, + although I love to share my work, sharing about myself has never been a strength of mine. Yet, I believe it’s important for you to know the person you’ll be sharing your story with; so I might as well tell mine. La Crosse, WI is where I call home. I grew up in Madison, + most would say that’s a great place to be. It is, but I decided leaving to a smaller place for school was the way to go - I’m still super happy about that decision. I’m twenty years old, + a junior in college studying to be an elementary school teacher. If this whole creating thing doesn’t work out, you can find me teaching little kids - my favorite kind of people. I’m adopted, + am so lucky to say I’m one of the ten kids in my family. My parents are saints + anyone who has met them can vouch for that. There’s nothing I’m more thankful for in this life than my adoption + this life my crazy, big family has given me.

I really cannot pinpoint where my love for the arts started because I started creating as soon as I was old enough to hold a paintbrush. I love to create anything I can with these small hands of mine, + eventually taking snapshots through a camera quickly became one of those things. I’ve always documented my life in any way I could + I have that craze to thank for my start in photography + filming. I got my first personal camera my freshman year of college + it grew from there. It’s a cliche, but I truly believe I was created to do this. Telling others’ stories in a way that they can keep + share forever is one of the coolest things, + I still can’t believe I do it.

January 2019 marks the fifth year of this lil thing called a paralysis that takes over my right foot. No one knows why it happened or how to fix it, but I’ve learned a lot because of it. To be blunt, it really sucks + I’ve had my fair share of injuries, meltdowns, helpless moments, + negative attitudes because of it. I fall more than anyone you’ve probably met, but I can still walk. It might look a little funny, but that no longer matters to me. I can still do things that make me happy - like capturing these moments in life.

If life went the way we want it to, I’d be creating full time, living somewhere near mountains, traveling, + filling this headspace with all the dope things this world has to offer. For now, we go with the flow + see where it takes us. If I’m not studying you can usually find me with my friends, painting, listening to music, watching movies, or trying to catch the sunset from the top of the bluffs.

Capturing moments in other peoples’ lives is one of the greatest things I’ve ever been able to offer. These are the moments that will be on display to remember. or on the screen to reminisce. Let me capture them for you so you can hold onto them forever.
